NOTES:
Fear of commitment? Well, I guess that was part of the idea of the tune. More specifically it’s not afraid of commitments as much as making a bad choice. A lover longs for the other to help them along and get over or through the last hurdle. The real stuff between lovers, insecurity and doubt and profound love. When you lose the horizon line and wait and trust for a lover to tell you where it is. This started out very guitar heavy which we took most of it out to focus on the atmosphere. The drums are played by Mark Schreiber who was in The Darrows with me. We had gotten together after years of being apart. I assumed the battle scars of those formative years from indie innocents to full throttle initiation into the world of big-time corporate rock and roll had taken a toll. For the record, I always looked back at those years and those guys as war buddies. I love them both still and understand completely that sometimes there is a weight that can’t be transcended. Only we could know what that was like, like being in the middle of a hurricane. Lots of shit went wrong and lots of shit went right but it took a toll. So, I had the idea not only for reunion (which I’m not really a big fan of) but mostly for his playing style to track a tune with him. It had the element of “sex with an ex”. It’s always kinda good. We avoided the bad side and here’s a little something from the other side of life.

LYRICS:
The light in the room has now gone away
It all runs to you, to light your face
Tell me all the things that you never say
And tell me how I can say the same

Tell me I’m already falling down
Tell me to stay and we’ll lose all doubt
Tell me I’m not giving in
These doubts come down in waves

In a tangle of blonde that falls over me
I’m lost, I am lost and held from less
Words lie
But words can’t deny the way you stay

Tell me I’m already falling down
Tell me to stay and we’ll lose all doubt
Tell me, I so want to know
We’re going on with change

Don’t fall in on me
Just fall into me
No time to hide again or run
Lose yourself
We’ll make your way

Tell me I’m already falling down
Tell me that chance is for all that doubt
Tell me I’m not giving in
We’re going on with change
Tell me, I’m lost, Tell me, I’m lost
Tell me, I so want to know
These doubts come down in waves
