Again, a song recorded before a different version was released first on “The Gladhouse”. I wrote the body of the lyrics in a hotel room in Caracas wondering just what the hell had happened to me to be where I was. Love. There seems to be all shades of that word, this one is about being stolen. Beautifully, hopelessly, out of control and given a view to yourself and the world that you never dreamt of or saw coming. Who are you then? Like getting shaken by your shoulders and then floated above the ground. What a wonderful world. This song has the first string section I ever wrote and recorded. I remember the players, who came from the Phila Orchestra being brutal with me. Man, they took me to school over my ineptly transcribed scoring. They let me know what was needed for their standards. Brutal and they contributed nothing – which was something new coming from a band where opinions are weighed by the ton. Swim or drowned! It was good for me. The liner notes say Andi Hemmenway – because it was recorded years ago, I really can’t remember the actual player’s names, only the musical beating they gave me over what I think even now is a damn fine little arrangement. So dear Andi Hemmenway stands in for credits but not for attitude – talented, good, gentle, over-looker of bad scoring, team player that she is.
